More on last night's game:

-Dave Molinari's recap.

-Tickets for Game 5 go on sale today at 2 p.m.

-Sidney Crosby agreed with Jaromir Jagr's assessment that he wasn't in Mario Lemieux class.

-Gene Collier says Jagr was the reason the Rangers won Game 4.

-Are you going to Stockholm?

Was Malkin's non-goal a goal? EN reader "Andrew" sent us a photo and The Pensblog pointed out where the puck is:

malkingoal

-Looks like one to us. The net is still in place and he didn't kick it in. Don't get us wrong. We're not saying the Penguins lost the game because of it. They had other chances to score goals. We're just saying it should've been a goal.

-EN reader Ian DeArdo sent us a few photos from Game 4:

argue

-Henrik Lundqvist's save on Malkin's penalty shot was big.

-Jagr made it look like 1999.

-The Rangers' captain leads all playoff scorers with 15 points.

-Jagr backed up his own words.

-Rangers fans want Jagr back next season.

-Brendan Shanahan moved into ninth place all-time in career playoff assists with 72.

-Paul Mara cared not for Evgeni Malkin kicking his legs out at the end of the game.

-Here's the scrum and replay of the slew-foot Malkin gave Mara at the end of the game:

-That was a pretty cheap move by Malkin.

-A headline writer at the Toronto Star doesn't like Sean Avery.

-Avery's internal bleeding has stopped.

-Don Cherry blamed the instigator rule for Avery's spleen injury (2:20 mark):

-The New York Daily News made a really lame attempt at defending its Sean Avery had a heart attack/contracted the Bubonic Plague/had a foot amputated/needed an exorcism story.

-Georges Laraque is a good guy.

-George Vecsey says the Penguins are the NHL's next great dynasty.

-Over at Going Five Hole, the Mike Lange tournament of quotes has reached the final.

EMPTY NETTER ASSISTS

Eastern Conference

Canadiens-Flyers

-The Flyers really need to lose:

(Kudos to James Mirtle for the find.)

-Assuming the Flyers and Penguins meet in the Eastern Conference finals, the Penguins need to call in a favor and recruit the services of like GWAR or something. They did after all make a song called "Penguin Attack."

-Get Iceburgh to spray what we assume is fake blood onto the Flyers' bench and they'll be all set.

(Note: Before you press that big play button, just remember one thing, this is a GWAR video. There's nothing like nudity or curse words in it. We wouldn't post anything like that. "Just" a bunch of half naked guys spraying fake blood in it. We're simply giving you a warning. You may not want to let your boss hear you rocking to GWAR.)

-Flyers forward Daniel Briere is making his mark.

-Philadelphia's depth has helped them claim the lead in this series.

-The Canadiens don't know why they're losing.

-The Flyers are blocking shots like Mark Eaton.

-Philadelphia doesn't want a repeat of what happened in the first round.

-The Habs won't say who will start in net for Game 5.

-Montreal is now claiming the officials are against them.

-Flyers forward Jim Dowd is old.

-Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau is putting up a brave face.

-Flyers goaltender Martin Biron was a Quebec Nordiques fan.

Western Conference

Red Wings-Avalanche

-Johan Franzen set a franchise record by scoring his ninth goal of the series and led the Red Wings to an 8-2 rout of the rival Avalanche. Detroit swept the series, 4-0.

-Franzen and the Avalanche each scored nine goals in this series.

-Franzen set or tied a lot of records last night.

-Remember when this was a rivalry?

-It was a bad week for the Avalanche.

-Check out this brilliant/lucky goal Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg scored last night:

-Peter Forsberg needs to figure out what's up with his feet or he needs to hang up his skates.

-Detroit has managed the post-lockout NHL better than Colorado.

-The Avalanche needs to start over.

-Colorado has a lot of free agent issues to address this offseason.

-Avalanche goaltender Jose Theodore regressed in this series.

-With Detroit sweeping Colorado, there will be no NHL game on NBC Saturday.

-Free agent forward Fabian Brunnstrom got a firsthand look at Detroit in Game 4.

-Detroit coach Mike Babcock has made his team tougher.

Sharks-Stars

-The Stars want to close things tonight.

-Dallas coach and former Penguin Dave Tippett is a believer.

-Stars forward and former Penguin Stu Barnes is still dealing with whatever injury he was dealing with in Game 4.

-Dallas defenseman and former Penguin (we're in an ex-Penguins fantasy league, bear with us) Sergei Zubov is shaking off the rust.

-Ratings for Game 4 were the best for any program in the Dallas area that night.

-Sharks forward Curtis Brown returned to the lineup in Game 4 and played well.

-It's going to be Game 5 to the rest of us, but the Sharks are going to play like it's Game 7.

AHL

-Kurtis McLean had two assists for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-2 loss to Philadelphia. The Phantoms lead the series, 1-0.

-The Penguins were rusty.

IIHF World Championships

-The World Championships start today.

-Ducks forward Teemu Selanne will play for Finland.

Non-Playoff Stuff

Northeast Division

-Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin is living the good life.

Southeast Division

-The Capitals need a new mascot.

-You can officially hate Verizon and Ferrari. They're about to sign endorsement deals with Alexander Ovechkin.

Pacific Division

-Remember how the "new" NHL was going to bring cost certainty to all the league's franchises? Well apparently the Kings didn't get that memo. Despite being in the second largest media market on the continent, they're losing more money than they were before the lockout.
