Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin is one of three finalists for the Lester B. Pearson Award.
The National Hockey League Players Association announced that Malkin, Washington's Alexander Ovechkin and Calgary's Jerome Iginla were the three contenders for award, given to the most outstanding player in the league. The award is voted on by members of the players union.
Malkin, who is also a finalist for the league's MVP award, had 47 goals and 59 assists during the regular season.
