• Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield's sixth annual Walk for a Healthy Community, in support of 37 nonprofit agencies, will be held Saturday morning, May 3, at Heinz Field, North Shore. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. The 5K Walk begins at 9 a.m. The One-Mile Fun Walk begins at 9:15 a.m. For walkers registering at the event, there will be a parking fee of $5 in Gold Lots 1 and 2 and $3 in the Red 5 parking garage. • OASIS is sponsoring a PALS walking group from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays from May 1 to Aug. 28 at the Freight Shops at Station Square. Call 412-232-2023.

• The Pilates Centre on Wildwood Road in Hampton will celebrate National Pilates Day on Saturday, May 3, with free mat classes every 30 minutes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be free body fat measurements for adults and children over 12 years old. For more information, call 412-877-0616.

• The Sierra Club's Allegheny Group is sponsoring the following hikes:

-- Intermediate and exploratory, Lower Indian Creek Valley from the Route 381-Mill Run Reservoir to the Youghiogheny River, May 3 or 4, specific date to be determined by weather. Call 412-441-2027.

Classes/clinics


• Madeline Martucci is teaching Hatha Yoga classes from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays from May 5 through Aug. 25 at the Nuin Wellness & Conference Center, 5655 Bryant St., Highland Park. The cost is $136. Classes may be prorated for latecomers, otherwise $10 per class. No class is being held on May 26. To register, call 724-337-3750.

• The following classes are being held beginning May 5 at John McMillan Presbyterian Church, 875 Clifton Road, Bethel Park. Single class is $10; one class per week is $44 and two classes per week is $64. Classes are interchangeable. Call 412-855-7865.
