Per popular demand, Mike Lange's goal calls from yesterday:

Bring Back Mike

EMPTY NETTER ASSISTS

Eastern Conference

Penguins-Rangers

-Dave Molinari's recap from yesterday's game.

-Hal Gill would've had a bad 40-time at the NFL combine.

-Sean Avery and Marc-Andre Fleury getting involved:

-A different view of the Avery-Fleury dispute:

-The Rangers are eager to go back to New York.

-The Penguins haven't played well at Madison Square Garden this season.

-New York didn't have a problem with Martin Straka's non-goal.

-Henrik Lundqvist was solid.

-Postgame video.

-Brendan Shanahan did a Sean Avery impression.

-The Rangers played exactly the game they wanted, but still lost.

-The Penguins are starting to show their maturity.

-The Rangers found out the Penguins can win any type of game.

-New York forward Petr Prucha made his debut in this season's playoffs.

-The Rangers couldn't get the power play going.

-Jaromir Jagr told Sidney Crosby to play hockey.

-For some reason, the Rangers are trying to draw inspiration from a series they lost to Buffalo last year.

Canadiens-Flyers

-Check out this sucker punch Montreal forward and former Penguin Tom Kostopoulos stuck on Philadelphia defenseman Kimmo Timonen in Game 2:

-Amazingly, Kostopoulos isn't facing any sort of punishment over this. That's garbage. Kostopoulos should have to sit a game at least for that sorry scene. (Kudos to James Mirtle for the find.)

-Kostopoulos accepted blame for his actions.

-Flyers center Jim Dowd is pretty superstitious.

-Flyers goaltender Martin Biron is happy to playing Game 3 in Philadelphia.

-Habs goaltender Carey Price is young.

-Montreal coach Guy Carbonneau made the stunning accusation that the Flyers lack class.

-Flyers forward and Plum native R.J. Umberger cared not for being demoted to the fourth line.

-Philadelphia forward Mike Knuble is still dealing with a hamstring injury.

-Game 3 is setting up to a rough and tumble affair.

Western Conference

Red Wings-Avalanche

-Despite getting roughed up in the first two games of the series, Jose Theodore will start in net for Colorado in Game 3.

-How should the Avalanche attack the Red Wings?

-Colorado needs a boost from its fan base.

-Even though they're up 2-0 in the series, the Red Wings aren't taking anything for granted.

-Will Detroit be able to handle the altitude in Denver?

-In honor of Johan Franzen, the Detroit Free Press listed some other famous mules.

-Check out Cody McLeod's distain for seafood:

Sharks-Stars

-Brad Richards had a goal and three assists for the Stars in a 5-2 win at San Jose. Dallas has a 2-0 lead in the series.

-Richards showed why the Stars picked him up at the trade deadline.

-Richards out-scored the other big trade deadline acquisition in Dallas last night, Jason Kidd.

-Stars defenseman and former Penguin Sergei Zubov returned to the lineup.

-Dallas really missed Zubov.

-The Sharks lost their edge.

-The Stars and Sharks rack up a ton of frequent flyer miles.

-Stars forward Brenden Morrow has some sort of lower-body injury.

-The Sharks have dug themselves a hole.

-Games like Game 2 are why the Sharks' character is questioned so often.

-San Jose is having trouble with the Jere Lehtinen, Brenden Morrow and Mike Ribeiro line.

-It didn't take long for things to go sour for the Sharks last night.

-The Sharks picked a terrible time to start playing bad.

AHL

-Biggest Homer Announcer of the Day: Whoever does the Syracuse's Crunch's games. After Manitoba Moose goaltender Cory Schneider gets sucker punched in the head by Syracuse punk Tom Sestito, the Crunch's announcer blames Schnedier for not being able to take a sucker punch:

-Something tells us were he employed by the Vancouver Canucks about four years ago, this joke would blame Steve Moore for not being able to take a sucker punch from Todd Bertuzzi.

-Sestito was suspended three games for the punch. Syracuse captain Zenon Konopka offered to have Sestito fight anyone on Manitoba's roster in the parking lot (no really).

(Kudos to Jonathan Bombulie of the Wilkes-Barre Citizens Voice the find.)

Non-Playoff Stuff

Southeast Division

-"Shockingly," those Barry Melrose to the Lightning rumors aren't looking very credible.

Central Division

-In a news item that has Marian Hossa's future address all over it, the Predators appear ready to spend some money in the offseason.

Patrick Division

-NHL Network will carry the Memorial Cup which is essentially the junior championship of Canada.
