Penguins left winger Gary Roberts will sit out game one of the Penguins second-round playoff series against the New York Rangers tonight at Mellon Arena because of a sore groin.
"It's Gary's call," Penguins coach Michel Therrien said. "We're disappointed that he's not able to play, but we have to respect his decision."
Therrien plans to reconfigure two of his defense pairings. The Brooks Orpik-Sergei Gonchar unit will remain intact, but Hal Gill will play with Rob Scuderi and Kris Letang will be alongside Ryan Whitney.
