Jack Sauer of J.A. Sauer Heating & Air Conditioning received the 2008 President's Award from Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp., for overall quality, leadership and excellence.
Aquatec International was awarded a 2008 ThinkGlobal/Commercial News USA Exporter of the Year award from ThinkGlobal Inc., publisher of Commercial News USA, export promotion magazine of the U.S. Department of Commerce, distributed to 400,000 readers in 176 countries.
Paul J. Pantano became a member of the Million Dollar Round Table -- the Premier Association of Financial Professionals.
Dr. Albert Labriola, acting dean of the Duquesne University McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, received for the fourth time the Irene Samuel Memorial Award of the Milton Society of America at a convention of the Modern Language Association for co-editing and contributing to "Milton in the Age of Fish" (Duquesne University Press, 2006). The award recognizes the most distinguished multiauthor collection on Milton.
The UPMC Cancer Centers recently received the National Chairman's Citation for Excellence in Community Service by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Pittsburgh chapter of the society nominated UPMC -- the only center to receive the award this year despite more than 50 nominations.
Melissa K. Parkes, occupational therapist, TELI's Infant/Toddler Program, received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Duquesne University for serving two terms as elected treasurer of the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association.

DeComo, chief executive officer of Renal Solutions Inc., Hall of Fame Lifetime Legend Award; the Rev. Robert G. Duch Ph.D., longtime CCAC board member and former board chair, Legendary Friend; Yvonne H. Davis Ph.D., former CCAC faculty member who helped establish its child development centers, Legendary Faculty. Robert Sendall, founder of All in Good Taste Productions, of Pittsburgh and Palm Springs, Calif., Legendary Alumnus; Michele Lowe, member of CCAC's Honors Program, Legendary Student who received the Leadership in Honors Scholarship and was on the Dean's List and a member of the All-Pennsylvania Academic Team.
David Glickman, vice president, Grubb & Ellis Retail Group, Pittsburgh office, ranked in the top 20 among Grubb & Ellis retail brokers nationwide based on revenue production.

Dr. Hans-Christoph Pape won a Kappa Delta Award, the highest honor given to scientific and clinical researchers by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Pape, chief of orthopaedic trauma surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, is an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Pape is honored for his groundbreaking clinical research introducing optimal methods of managing orthopaedic injuries of multiple-injury trauma patients.
