Quentin Williams

Central Catholic

The past week: Williams, a senior outfielder/pitcher for the Vikings' baseball team, had a home run, a double, three runs and five RBIs to push Central Catholic to a 13-3 victory last Thursday against Plum. The next day, he pitched a one-hitter against Woodland Hills.

Check this out: Williams was a Fabulous 22 selection in football this past season as a tight end/defensive end for the WPIAL and PIAA Class AAAA champion Vikings. He is also student council president and will play football and baseball at Northwestern.

What feels better, a home run, or scoring a touchdown? A home run is kind of more of an individual glory. But, a touchdown, even though it is individual when you catch it, takes more teamwork and people. I think that is the magic of a touchdown pass, that everyone needs to do their job to make it happen.

Who is the best two-sport athlete ever? I will say Michael Jordan. ... He went and played baseball because it was something he loved doing. It wasn't all about the glory in it ... . Isn't that what sports are supposed to be all about?

Do you have any free time? Not during the week, no. During the week, it is straight from school, to lifting or to practice and then straight home to do my schoolwork. The schoolwork at Central is tough ...

Cambrya Jones

Woodland Hills

The past week: Jones, a senior, won the 100- and 200-meter dashes at Hempfield's Lady Spartan Track and Field Invitational. Her times of 11.99 in the 100 and 24.98 in the 200 set stadium records.

Check this out: Jones has the WPIAL's top times this season in the 100 (10.8) and 200 (24.8). At last year's WPIAL Class AAA championships, she finished third in the 100 and second in the 200. Laurel Highlands' Breehana Jacobs won both events, but has graduated. Jones has signed to run next year at Pitt.

Where does the name Cambrya come from? When my mom was pregnant with me, she was watching the news on TV. They had said something about Cambria County and she liked the name. So she named me, but with a "Y."

Have your goals changed since Breehana Jacobs has graduated? Yes, drastically. I really want to come home with gold this year from the state [PIAA] meet. I think I have a better chance in the 200 than 100.

What do you think of right before a race starts? Just everything I need to do, especially in the 100. I just remind myself to stay down, drive and get a good start.

If you could take anyone in the world to the prom, whom would it be? Terrelle Pryor. I love his height.
