Doorman at Homewood slaying scene sought by police
Thursday, April 24, 2008

A doorman at a Homewood bar where a man was fatally shot last month is being sought by city homicide detectives for questioning.

Police are interested in Dane Antoine Brooks, who has a criminal record dating to 1991, because he was working as a doorman in the early hours of March 30, when John Allen, 22, was shot and killed at the door of Mac Can Do's bar on Brushton Avenue.

Mr. Brooks, 39, has not been seen since the night of the shooting, and he has not been questioned by investigators, police said.

Homicide detectives said Mr. Allen was banned from the bar because of rowdy behavior. At the door he argued with someone as he tried to gain entry, and was shot in the neck.

Anyone with information about the shooting or Mr. Brooks' whereabouts can call Pittsburgh's 911 center.
