Jeannette's Hall adds to WPIAL connection at Ohio State
Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Ohio State has landed another WPIAL football player.

Jeannette junior running back Jordan Hall made a verbal commitment to Ohio State Monday night. On Monday afternoon, Gateway standout linebacker Dorian Bell announced his commitment to Ohio State.

Hall still has one more season at Jeannette, but when he gets to Ohio State in 2009, he will be reunited with a former teammate. Last month, Ohio State signed Jeannette quarterback Terrelle Pryor.

Jeannette coach Ray Reitz knew Hall liked Ohio State, but Reitz thought Hall would wait to make a decision. Hall can't sign a binding letter of intent with Ohio State until February of his senior year.

Hall, who is 5 feet 9, 181 pounds, also had scholarship offers from Pitt, Penn State, Michigan and Notre Dame, among others. Reitz said the only other school Hall visited was Pitt.

"I was very surprised he decided already and I think his family was, too," Reitz said. "But I think he saw what Terrelle went through, with waiting so long to make a decision. I think he just wants to concentrate on his senior year, and getting bigger and stronger."

Hall helped Jeannette to WPIAL and PIAA Class AA championships last season. He was the team's second-leading rusher with 872 yards on 103 carries and also scored 32 touchdowns.
