In addition to coverage on all the cable news networks and a 9 p.m. "NewsHour" special on PBS, local stations will offer their own coverage of returns from the Pennsylvania primary tonight. We reported WTAE's plans last week -- cut-ins as needed, and a special at 8:30 p.m. KDKA will offer a live webcast from 8 to 10 p.m. on KDKA.com anchored by Stacy Smith, Ken Rice and Jon Delano, in addition to cut-ins on KDKA-TV. Expect extended political coverage on the 10 p.m. news on WPCW.
At WPXI, primary coverage will be carried on PCNC from 7 to 11 p.m. along with the regularly scheduled 10 p.m. news on WPGH and additional content at WPXI.com.
"There's a good chance there are several times we'll be on WPXI, WPGH and PCNC at the same time," said news director Corrie Harding.
Planned updates will air on WPXI, but the station may break into programs if news warrants.
"We'll really try hard not to mess up people's 'Law & Order: SVU' experience," Harding said.
