Uncovering the multitude's need for some filthy frivolity, Attack Theatre's annual Dirty Ball delivered once again. Saturday night's bash and pre-party event at the Cork Factory and the Pennsylvania Macaroni Company Warehouse sold out thanks to the anything goes attire, dirt cheap tickets ($45) and a steady flow of innuendo, dance and drinks.
Pam and Ken McCrory hosted the pre-party event, which included an intimate Attack Theater performance, which included the artistic directors and founders Peter Kope and Michele de la Reza. The evening celebrated Pittsburgh's anonymous donor for his/her support of the city's art and culture. In a letter read to guests, the anonymous donor explained his need to stay behind the scenes. "I can do things that no one will ever know about ... I can be a fly on the wall," said the donor in his letter.
Not so anonymous were all the people in party mode including ball co-chairs Lauren Bracey and Todd Owens, Tim McVay, Jessica Coup and Scott Bergstein, Dan Iddings, Dutch McDonald, Linnea Glick, Sid Ramchandran and Susan Gillis, and Nachum Golan with Stephen Hough. Rob Long's Clear Story did an amazing job of setting up the lighting and scafolding. Exotic dancers moved inside light boxes where only their shadows were visible, while VIP's chilled in the black and red velvet covered lounge created by Richard Parsakian. This is one ball that beats 'em all.

A VIP reception with University president Paul Hennigan gave honorary chairs Francine and Jim Abraham and Nancy Washington a chance to mingle before the general reception and performances of Tony Award-winning Broadway tunes by The Conservatory of Performing Arts students. Among those applauding the talented were Dr. Stan and Mariann Geyer, Leon and Ann Haley, Tom and Ellen Golonski, Ron and Judy Davenport, Holly and Peter Eisenbrandt, Ann Lewis, Jimmy Miller, Harris Ferris, Richard Reed, Bill Trueheart and Ken Gargaro.
