E-ZPass expanding to Mon-Fay Expressway
Saturday, April 12, 2008

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will expand E-ZPass electronic toll collection to two mainline toll barriers on the Mon-Fayette Expressway starting Monday.

They're the toll barriers just south of Interstate 70 in Washington County and just south of Route 51 in Allegheny County.

However, motorists will still have to pay with cash and coins at a mainline toll barrier on the so-called "Mason Dixon" link south of Uniontown, and at all entry and exit ramps that are tolled.

Turnpike officials announced that the remaining fare collection points on the system will be upgraded and brought on-line for E-ZPass later this year.

People can sign up at www.paturnpike.com, AAA offices in the Pittsburgh region, participating Giant Eagle and Get Go stores, and a special E-ZPass vending machine at the New Stanton Service Plaza.
