2nd arrested in Indiana County cemetery desecration
Wednesday, April 09, 2008

State police today charged a second suspect in the desecration and destruction of headstones, statues and light fixtures at an Indiana County cemetery in February.

Joseph Allen Roach, 19, of Indiana, Pa., was charged today with criminal mischief and institutional vandalism, both third-degree felonies, state police said.

Investigators said Mr. Roach, along with David Christian Williams, 19, also of Indiana, and a third suspect damaged property Feb. 21 at St. Bernard Cemetery in White Township.

Mr. Williams, who was arrested March 28 in connection with the incident, already has been ordered to stand trial. He is being held in the county jail on $25,000 bail.

Mr. Roach is scheduled for a preliminary hearing next Wednesday before District Judge Guy B. Haberl.
