Belle Vernon Area
Guard, 5-10, Senior
A lightning-quick guard, Dudzinski was Belle Vernon's go-to player this past season. Perhaps the top player in Section 5-AAA, he averaged 20.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists a game in earning all-section honors for a second consecutive season. As a junior he averaged 20.1 ppg. Dudzinski, who was coached by his father, John, paced the Leopards to a 19-6 record and the Section 5-AAA championship. He finished his high school career with 1,436 points.
JON KENNEDY
Bentworth
Forward, 6-4, Senior
Selected to the second-team of the Associated Press Class A All-State squad, Kennedy finished his high school career with 1,454 points after scoring 577 points this season. Kennedy averaged 21.1 points and 8.5 rebounds a game in leading the Bearcats to a 19-9 overall record and a spot in the WPIAL playoffs. The Bearcats also advanced to the PIAA tournament. An outstanding soccer player as well, he scored 43 goals during the regular season last fall.
CHARLES MURPHY
Canon-McMillan
Guard, 6-0, Senior
A cool customer when the heat was on, Murphy connected on a number of clutch shots for the Big Macs of coach Rick Bell this past season. He made 39 of 89 3-point attempts -- an impressive 43.8 percent -- and shot 68.1 percent on two-point attempts. Murphy averaged 14.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He finished his high school career with 996 points. The Big Macs enjoyed one of their best seasons in school history, finishing second to Moon in Section 4-AAAA.
TIM TYREE
Monessen
Guard, 5-9, Senior
The leading vote-getter in Section 5-AA this past season, Tyree used his speed and quickness to blow by the opposition. He averaged 17 points and four assists a game for the Greyhounds, and helped the team to a 19-7 overall record and the section championship. He averaged 13.7 points as a junior and was named to the all-section team for a second consecutive year. He has been offered a scholarship by Division II powerhouse California, according to Monessen coach Joe Salvino.
NICK WILCOX
Peters Township
Guard, 6-3, Junior
Wilcox took his game to the next level this past season. After averaging just three points and 2.5 assists as a sophomore, Wilcox averaged 17.6 points, 6 rebounds and 2.2 assists a game in helping the Indians to a 16-9 record and a place in the WPIAL playoffs. The second-leading vote-getter in Section 4-AAAA behind Moon Area's Brian Walsh, Wilcox was the player Peters Township looked to when it needed a basket. He also played for the school's PIAA championship soccer team.
