"Ajax" is the new nickname of the baby Apatosaurus in the "Dinosaurs in Their Time" exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
Josh Spyra, 11, of Liberty, submitted the winning moniker in the "Nickname the Baby Apatosaurus" contest, beating out more than 150 other entries.
"I did a lot of research into dinosaurs like Apatosaurus and 'Ajax' was the name that seemed to fit," he said. "It is really cool to name a dinosaur. I don't know anybody else who has ever done that."
As the winner, Josh will receive a certificate, an hour-long private tour of the exhibit and four admission tickets to the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History.
"Ajax" is part of Phase One of the "Dinosaurs in Their Time" exhibit. Phase Two of the exhibit, which will feature the return of Tyrannosaurus rex, will open June 15.
