Joyce E. McConnell has been named dean of the West Virginia University College of Law, the university announced yesterday,

She is associate dean for academic affairs and endowed professor of law at the college. She succeeds outgoing dean John W. Fisher II.

Ms. McConnell, who joined the College of Law in 1995, will assume the role effective July 1.
