Five people have pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to mortgage fraud charges.
Sharon Chamberlain, 40, of Robinson, and Ericka Stanford, 35, of Scott, each pleaded guilty before Judge Joy Flowers Conti to one court of wire fraud conspiracy. Ms. Stanford also pleaded guilty to money laundering in a scheme based at People's Home Mortgage, a Pittsburgh-based company.
Andrea Revak, 47, of Baldwin Borough, and Aaron McCarthy, 43, of Knoxville, pleaded guilty before Chief Judge Donetta W. Ambrose to one count each of wire fraud conspiracy in a scheme arising from Precision Mortgage, based in Carnegie.
Marlin Sprouts Jr., 52, of Uniontown, pleaded guilty before Judge Terrence McVerry to one count of wire fraud conspiracy that involved obtaining fraudulent loans from various lenders, according to U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan.
Sentencings were set as follows: Ms. Chamberlain, July 11; Ms. Stanford, Sept. 12; Ms. Revak, Sept. 5; Mr. McCarthy, Sept. 11; Mr. Sprouts, no date set.
The cases were investigated by the Mortgage Fraud Task Force, made up of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
