Aliquippa
Forward, 6-6, Senior
An outstanding athlete who is headed to Pitt for football, Baldwin was selected to the PG West Fab Five for a second consecutive year. He was the leading vote-getter in Section 6-AA for a third consecutive year and was Aliquippa's player. Baldwin averaged 21.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2 blocks a game. He was also named to the first team on the Associated Press Class AA All-State squad this season. An outstanding sprinter in track, Baldwin will play wide receiver at Pitt.
ANTOINE CHILDS
Blackhawk
Forward, 6-5, Senior
He was the player most responsible for Blackhawk winning the WPIAL Class AAA title. Childs presented a match-up problem for teams because he could step outside and make 3-point shots or post up and use his quickness and leaping ability to get to the basket. He averaged 20.6 points and 7.2 rebounds a game and was the leading vote-getter in Section 2-AAA. He was named to the Associated Press Class AAA All-State first team. He has committed to Western Carolina, a Division I program.
T.J. McCONNELL
Chartiers Valley
Guard, 5-8, Soph.
An outstanding 3-point shooter, McConnell averaged 19.5 points, 5 assists and 6 steals per game and connected on 94 3-pointers this season. He made 92.6 percent of his free throws. His value to the Colts was demonstrated in the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs when he went down with a broken left arm, ending his season. Without him, the Colts were beaten in the semifinals by Blackhawk. He was named to the third team of the Associated Press Class AAA All-State team.
TODD THOMAS
Beaver Falls
Forward, 6-3, Junior
Another outstanding athlete, Thomas has received numerous Division I offers for football. He was the Tigers' leading scorer, averaging 16.6 points and helped them win the Section 6-AA title and advance to the WPIAL Class AA final. He also averaged 10 rebounds and 7 assists a game. An outstanding leaper, Thomas was also capable of stepping outside and making 3-point shots. A repeat selection to the PG West Fabulous Five, he was named to the Associated Press Class AA All-State second team.
BRIAN WALSH
Moon Area
Guard, 6-4, Senior
The Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year, Walsh has signed with Xavier. Selected to the PG West Fab Five for the second consecutive year, he was the leading vote-getter in Section 4-AAAA and helped Moon reach the WPIAL championship game and PIAA semifinals. Walsh averaged 19.7 points and 7.6 rebounds a game this season, and finished his high school career with more than 1,500 points. Was named Associated Press All-State Class AAAA first team.
