JACKIE BABE

Mt. Lebanon

Guard, 5-9, Senior

Babe was the unquestioned leader of a Blue Devils team that is considered one of the finest in school history. With Babe as the maestro of the offense at her point guard position, Mt. Lebanon constructed a 27-3 record and reached the PIAA championship game and the WPIAL semifinals. Babe averaged just 11 points per game, but, more importantly, contributed in every category and was a stalwart on defense for coach Dori Oldaker's team. She will play at Duquesne next season.

NICOLE DORIA

South Park

Guard, 5-6, Junior

A bona fide long-range sharpshooter and one of the finest juniors in the WPIAL, Doria put her Eagles team on her back and led it to the WPIAL Class AA championship with a 47-37 victory against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. In that title game win, Doria scored all of her game-high 19 points in the second half. She averaged 15.8 points per game this season and torched Washington for 35 points -- including four 3-pointers -- in the WPIAL semifinals.

ALEX GENSLER

Upper St. Clair

Guard, 5-11, Senior

A threat to have a huge game any night she steps on the floor, Gensler averaged 16.5 points for the WPIAL champion Panthers, who finished 23-6. Gensler, a tall guard, presents a big-time matchup problem for the opposition as she possesses the ability to knock down jumpers as well as beat her defender off the dribble. Gensler was too much for Peters Township to handle in the WPIAL title game, scoring 25 points. She will play for coach Suzie McConnell-Serio at Duquesne next season.

EMILY MILLER

Mt. Lebanon

Forward, 5-11, Junior

One of the instrumental pieces in Mt. Lebanon's run to State College and the PIAA Class AAAA championship game, where the Blue Devils fell against Central Dauphin, 56-49. Miller showed the ability to be multi-faceted, playing on the wing and in the post and also asked to guard one of the other team's most dominant players on many occasions. Miller averaged 9.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game this season.

ANDREA PION

Upper St. Clair

Guard, 5-11, Senior

There wasn't a player in the WPIAL who elevated her level of play in big games any more than Pion. She averaged 11.6 points and 6 rebounds for the Panthers, but was dynamite down the stretch. She scored 18 points in a WPIAL playoff first-round win against North Allegheny, 18 more in the quarterfinals against New Castle and 14 in a first round PIAA triumph against Butler. She is considering several Division III schools and getting some attention from Division I schools.
