Sports Museum to host fan festival

Sports greats from the past and present will be part of a June fan festival at the Heinz History Center announced this morning at a press conference.

The June 20-22 event at the Senator John Heinz History Center and Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum will include autograph signings from former Pittsburgh champion athletes; championship trophies from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates and Steelers; interactive sports activities designed for children and adults alike; a "lost teams" section featuring artifacts from defunct Pittsburgh teams, including the Condors, Crawfords, Hornets, Maulers, Pipers, Rens and Homestead Grays; and highlight videos of Pittsburgh's most memorable championship moments.

The event is part of Pittsburgh's 250th birthday celebration.

Admission will be $20 for a one-day pass that include admission to the History Center and Sports Museum at 1212 Smallman St. in the Strip District , $12.50 for children 6-12, and free for children under 6. Three-day passes are $50.
