A 36-year-old man from Scott was shot in the face with a small caliber weapon shortly before midnight Saturday near the intersection of Third Street and Diamond Alley, Carnegie.
A suspect, Muhammed Ali Nasar, 19, of the 400 block of Third Street, Carnegie, was apprehended a short time after the shooting and taken into custody on drug possession charges. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
Police in Carnegie and Allegheny County Police Homicide Detectives are continuing to investigate the facts surrounding the shooting, Carnegie police Chief Jeffrey Harbin said.
The victim was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
