PHOENIX, AZ. -- UCLA is headed to the Final Four for the third consecutive season under former Pitt coach Ben Howland and the Bruins did it in impressive fashion.
The Bruins beat Xavier, 76-57, tonight in the NCAA Tournament West Regional Final before 18,103 at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix. UCLA (35-3), which is the top seed in the region, will play the winner of tomorrow's South Regional Final - Memphis or Texas -- next Saturday in the Final Four.
UCLA used a 24-8 run late in the first half and into the second half to blow open a close game and take a 20-point lead. The Bruins led by double digits the rest of the way.
