BIRD AND NATURE ENTHUSIASTS CAN get a 24/7 bird's-eye view of a pair of nesting peregrine falcons and their nest.

The FalconCam is mounted on the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning. The live streaming video of the falcons can be accessed through the National Aviary's Web site.

The images will give researchers and the general public a rare close look at the growing falcon family. Eggs are expected to hatch in April.

The Aviary's site also offers updated still images of a second falcon pair that resides on the Gulf Building.

The site features a chronology detailing when each egg is laid and a fact sheet on peregrine falcons in general and the Cathedral of Learning falcons in particular.

The streaming video project is a collaboration between the National Aviary's Department of Conservation and Field Research, the University of Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

CHERISHEDLIVES IS AN ONLINE MEMORIAL site that offers a new way to honor the departed.

CherishedLives was launched by Frank Pittelli, an entrepreneur who wanted to set up an online memorial tribute to his late father, and to help others who had suffered a loss and who wanted to keep their memories alive.

Once a page has been created for someone, family or friends can post music, photographs, videos and share memories with others who knew the deceased person. They can even buy flowers to place on a virtual grave site.

There's a one-time lifetime membership fee of $49.95 to set up a memorial page, plus an annual $5.99 maintenance fee. Once registered, members can set up additional pages for others for an $8.95 membership fee. There's no charge to visit the pages.

There's a section for people who served in the military or in police and fire departments, and a companion memorial site for pets.

They also offer a free family tree site, where users can document their family tree for future generations.
