Ex-Steeler must seek anger management treatment
Friday, March 28, 2008

Former Steelers wide receiver Cedrick Wilson has been ordered to undergo treatment for anger management.

Mr. Wilson was released March 20 from the team, a day after he was charged with striking Lindsey Paulat, 26, who is his former girlfriend and the mother of his 16-month-old daughter, at a restaurant in Pine.

His hearing today in connection with that arrest was postponed to May 30 at 9 a.m.

District Judge Regis Welsh Jr., who presided at the scheduled hearing, ordered Mr. Wilson to participate in anger management training at the Domestic Abuse Counseling Center in McKeesport, pending continuation of the perliminary hearing.

It is the second incident involving police, Mr. Wilson, 29, and Ms. Paulat, 26, of Fawn, this year.

She was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment following an incident Jan. 19 at Mr. Wilson's home on Blue Herron Drive in Pine.

Ms. Paulat, armed with a pistol kept at Mr. Wilson's home, had threatened to kill herself, and she fired the gun twice into the walls of the residence.

She surrendered after holding police at bay for 12 hours.

Mr. Wilson remains free on $10,000 bond, pending the hearing in May.
