Downtown fair set to help homeowners with mortgages
Friday, March 28, 2008

The Allegheny County chapter of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, the nation's largest community organization of low- and moderate-income families, will sponsor a Save Our Homes Fair at Regional Enterprise Towers, 425 Sixth Ave., Downtown.

Everyone who attends tomorrow's free event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the 31st floor community room, will have the opportunity to meet with a mortgage broker and discuss rewriting loans with low fixed rates and more affordable payment schedules.

ACORN housing counselors will help homeowners contact their lenders to negotiate a better loan, if necessary.

The event, co-sponsored by PNC Bank and state Sen. Jim Ferlo, D-Highland Park, will also include informational sessions for first-time home buyers on how to avoid making a bad home loan.

To register, call 412-441-6551.
