Washington County driver died of heart attack

A Washington County man died of a heart attack while driving on state Route 88 Tuesday in Monongahela and his car struck a parked truck and a second vehicle.

The Washington County coroner's office said David Rotta, 60, was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:55 p.m.

According Monongahela police, one of the three passengers in the southbound car gained control of the speeding vehicle on Main Street in Monongahela after Mr. Rotta became unresponsive.

A female passenger in the victim's car and another female in the second vehicle were flown by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.
