The Gateway school board last night voted to appeal the property assessments on 67 homes in the district, claiming the properties are undervalued by as much as 40 percent.

The measure was approved by an 8-1 margin.

School district Solicitor Bruce Dice said the appeal would be filed by Monday with the Allegheny County Board of Assessment Appeals and Review.
