Suburban Sect, a Brit-pop quartet that thrived here in the '90s, is back with a second reunion show, this time at Gooski's in Polish Hill on Saturday.
The stylish guitar-driven band, which lived from '95 to '99, reunited for a show in August of 2006.
"I know that I said the reunion show was the last time we'd play," says bassist Joe Dello Stritto, "but it was too much fun not to do it again, and we, at least I, think the songs are still tops. So after a year and a half we are doing it again."
Any other reunions on the calendar?
"We are leaving it open-ended," he says. "We could play a show again in the future, but I am also looking at it as this could be the last time I ever play a show with these guys."
It begins at 10 p.m. with Shade and Olympus Mons.
D-Jam 2008, the annual "rock against hunger" benefit for Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, features the Cause, Jill Simmons, Dave Iglar Band, Cherylann Hawk, Deanna Dean, Patti Spadaro, Howie Daniels, Jon Daniels and Andrea Pearl. It takes place 9 p.m. Saturday at PD's Pub in Squirrel Hill. Suggested donation is $10.
