In response to a reader's comment about local music on the radio in Pittsburgh ("Weekend Feedback: Play local music", March 20), WYEP 91.3 FM has been the biggest supporter of local music in Pittsburgh for many years.
Since my arrival in May of 2007, the following local acts have been added to regular rotation: Ben Hardt and His Symphony, Bill Deasy, Paul Luc, Boca Chica, Lohio, New Invisible Joy, Jon Check, Nicole Reynolds, Tom Breiding and Good Night States.
WYEP also hosts "Third Thursday," a local music happy hour at The WYEP Community Broadcast Center. The public is invited to enjoy a free performance from a local band, which is later made accessible at www.wyep.org. WYEP spotlights a different local release Monday through Thursday at 9 p.m.
I fully agree with the reader's opinion that Pittsburgh has a great local music scene! I'm out there seeking new local music and bringing the best of the best to the airwaves.

I, too, was not impressed with the garden part of the Home and Garden Show ("Weekend Feedback: Home show, but where was the garden?", March 20). I hope the organizers do a better job recruiting some of the farms and garden centers to come and set up displays there in the future. I do not think that they even tried to get them there this year.
