ART


Ross -- The North Hills Art Center, 3432 Babcock Blvd., will present Animals All Around, a multimedia, juried art show that features high school students and area artists, Saturday through April 23. Watercolors, oils, pottery and more will be displayed. Opening reception and awards ceremony is from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and will include musical entertainment, auctions, refreshments and a meet and greet with animals from Animal Friends. Free. Richland -- Northern Tier Library, 4015 Dickey Road, will offer hands-on computer classes beginning Monday with Introduction to Windows from 1 to 3 p.m. Other classes will include Intermediate Windows, April 7; Introduction to Word, April 23; Intermediate Word, April 30; and Advanced Word, May 7. Edgeworth -- Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras will honor retiring board member Ann Cahouet for her 15 years of dedicated service and support during a board fund-raiser from 3 to 5 p.m. April 6 at Sewickley Academy's Gregg Theater, 315 Academy Ave. Members of the Young Peoples Orchestra and Symphonette will perform chamber music. Areawide -- North Hills Community Outreach expects to hire four local, graduating high school seniors as Summer Youth Philanthropy Interns through a grant from The Heinz Endowments. In addition to being paid in the part-time position, the job offers an excellent opportunity for teens to become involved as minigrant makers in their communities, while improving organizational, communication and leadership skills.
