NEWARK, N.J. -- Penguins center Sidney Crosby said this afternoon that "it's definitely a possibility" that he will return to the lineup when the New York Islanders visit Mellon Arena Thursday night.
"As long as everything goes well, I'd definitely like to play that game," he said, after participating in the Penguins' game-day skate at the Prudential Center.
Crosby, who is nursing a high ankle sprain, will sit out the Penguins' game against the New Jersey Devils tonight.
So will winger Pascal Dupuis, who is in Atlanta, where is wife was to give birth.
Coach Michel Therrien said Dupuis is scheduled to rejoin the Penguins tomorrow.
Forward Connor James was recalled from the Penguins' farm team in Wilkes-Barre, in case he is needed to dress tonight.
More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
