A North Versailles commissioner was acquitted yesterday on charges that he kidnapped and assaulted a woman he met in a bar in November 2006.
Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey A. Manning also found Kash Snyder, 37, not guilty of unlawful restraint and reckless endangerment in the incident. The victim of the alleged attack, Monica Hanner, began shouting at the defendant after the judge announced the verdicts in the nonjury hearing. Sheriff's deputies cleared the courtroom, court officials said.
Ms. Hanner testified at trial that she and a friend met Mr. Snyder at Tequila Willie's in the Strip District, and then went bar-hopping with him in Station Square, the South Side and Oakland. Afterward, he offered her a ride to her car, but didn't let her out, she said. She testified that in his car, he slammed her head against the dashboard and when she got out and ran from his car in Forest Hills, she said, he fired a gun at her twice. She was not injured in the alleged shooting.
The judge said he intended to revoke Mr. Snyder's gun license, but the prosecutor said it had already been revoked.
