CCAC board votes for tuition increase

Tuition at Community College of Allegheny County will increase by 4 percent for the 2008-2009 acadmeic year, as a result of a Board of Trustees vote today.

The increase effective July 1 will raise the cost per credit from $82 to $85.25. The increase for a full-time student taking 24 credits will be $78 above the current yearly rate of $1,968. Today's vote was at a special meeting called becasue earlier this month when the administration proposed the increase, several board members asked for more information.
