Clairton woman killed, husband critical, after shooting in home

A Clairton woman was killed and her husband critically wounded in a shooting overnight in their residence.

Shawnta Lee, 40, of Clairton was shot in her Baker Avenue home. The autopsy will be done later today, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office. Her husband, David Lee, was wounded.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect, James Garland Watts, 42, of Clairton. He also is known to frequent McKeesport, police said.

Investigators said the shooting was reported at 9:58 p.m.

Ms. Lee was taken to UPMC Mercy where she was pronounced dead at 10:49 p.m., police said.

Her 53-year-old husband underwent emergency surgery, police said.

Investigators said Mr. Watts is considered armed and dangerous.
