A: I'm always reluctant to recommend that someone avoid a specific color altogether. There are too many shades and hues of every color to make that kind of blanket statement. I recommend a person try on different colors within a color family to determine which work for him or her. Usually, there's at least one variation of a color that someone can wear. Yellow can be tricky because the shades you see the most don't flatter paler skin. But there are so many richer shades that it's easier to find something that might work. Try on something yellow that isn't directly up against your skin, such as a sweater, a jacket or a belt. Or consider garments that incorporate yellow. Sometimes a trickle is better than a splash.
