Where to go ... Linesville State Fish Hatchery

What to do: Visit the ponds, concrete raceways, aquarium, Visitors Center and enclosed hatchery building where the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission raises warm and coolwater species for stocking, including walleyes, muskies, tiger muskies, large and smallmouth bass, paddlefish, channel catfish, steelhead and several types of panfish. Open daily 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Open house: April 5, noon-4 p.m. A Day at a Hatchery includes exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on kids activities from making a fish-print T-shirt to rod casting and basic fishing skills. Free.
