I read the article about Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh as a beer-drinking city ["Philly a better beer-drinking city than Pittsburgh? Sez them," March 6].
Pittsburgh is not a beer-drinking city. There are certainly good beers available in the Pittsburgh area, but when Coors Light (maybe the worst beer in the world) is the No. 1-selling beer in Pittsburgh, that tells you Pittsburgh is not a beer-drinking town.
Many restaurants in the Pittsburgh area do not offer "good" beers on tap like other cities.
I have been to several Pittsburgh-area restaurants that have only Coors Light and Bud Light on tap.
I think tap beers (from a good, clean tap system) are better than beers in a bottle or can.
Light beers are for people who want to get drunk without the taste of beer.
I see many, many people at Pittsburgh bars, restaurants, ball games, etc., drinking light beers. Maybe Pittsburgh is a good light beer-drinking city.
