What do you think of Jeannette superstar Terrelle Pryor's choice of Ohio State?
Here are selected responses.
The entire episode has been blown out of proportion. I played D1 football and saw many highly recruited kids fall by the wayside, but I also saw most achieve a modicum of success. I wish young Mr. Pryor every chance at good luck, but let's wait to see what he accomplishes, both athletically and academically. -- Bob Valigosky,
Murrysville, PA
I am glad for Terelle that he has made his decision, and wish him the best of success! To all the nay sayers, I say this. Terelle did not ask for all the media hype that has been given to him, he earned it by being the athlete that he is. I don't know if any of us at any age could handle all the attention he has received. I have watched him play for the past few seasons and he is the real deal. His high school achievements speak for themselves. My advice to Terelle is " Keep on Truckin Baby" and leave the nay sayers in your rear view mirror. Make smart decisions, and don't let others drag you down by their words. Remember they are just words, and words can be forgotten, but achievements go down in the books to be remembered forever. You have written a lot of pages already, and I believe the story has just begun! Thanks for the ride! It's been fun! Go Hawks! -- Mark Stevenson, Greensburg
He said "YUNZ" to the reporters twice during the press confernce live on ESPM! Atta Boy! He did great in the Army game.. Forget the AA stuff.. I hope that he does well... Forget the Haters Mr Pryor -- Vasil Ranbob, Washington DC
What was his signing bonus? No one plays for free at OSU -- Matthew Hoffman
Hopefully, it won't take him this long to find an open receiver. -- Steve Woods
Good Luck to a fine young man who does not deserve the negative things that sad, weak, jealous people have to say. -- Mark Kregecz, Morgantown, WV
He played at AA Jeannette. Not AAA, Not AAA......AA!!!! That is a far road traveled from Divison 1, Big Ten Football. Good luck Terelle....but this has bust written all over it
-- John, Carnegie PA
All this for a high school student that hasn't done a thing yet? What is his grade point average, what are his test scores, what classes does he take? Oh, that is right, he plays football so everyone pay attention. Truly, who cares? -- Kevin A. Van Asdalan, Banksville
Wow! You know what? I don't feel ANY different! Not relieved. Not excited. Not disappointed. I thought that I would be swayed towards one emotion or another being that this what all we've heard about for sometime now....Wait...nope... still nothing. -- Chris Newell
Is it ok if we now get on with the rest of our lives? -- William R. Purcell
Is it entirely possible that the coverage of this selection has been a little overdone? When every news service interrupts regularly scheduled televised coverage for 1/3rd of their allocated noon news time--perhaps the priorities of what indeed constitutes real news have become distorted. While I wish this young man the absolute best in his pursuit of a college education, there was absolutely no coverage of his academic selection---only his choice of an athletic agenda. What a shame. -- George Bower
