NEW YORK -- Pitt defeated Louisville, 76-69, in overtime in a Big East tournament quarterfinal round game tonight at Madison Square Garden. The Panthers (24-9) advance to the semifinal round and will face the winner of the Notre Dame-Marquette game, which is being played later tonight.

Pitt scored 10 of the first 12 points to open the overtime period to secure the victory, the 17th in its past 23 Big East tournament games.
