T.J. Heatherington
Serra
The past week: Heatherington scored 22 points to help Serra defeat Kennedy Catholic, 78-76, in a PIAA Class A semifinal Tuesday. He had 18 points in a quarterfinal victory against Bentworth a week ago.
Check this out: Heatherington, a 5-foot-9, 155-pound junior point guard, is second on the team in scoring at 17.5 points. He also was the starting quarterback on Serra's football team that won the WPIAL Class A title and made it to the PIAA championship game.
Where can you control a game more, at quarterback or point guard? I think point guard because you always have the ball in your hands. Coach lets me call some plays sometimes in basketball and there are fewer people to know about because there are only five, instead of 11 in football.
What has been a key ingredient in the football and basketball teams? I think chemistry among the players. We're all good friends on both teams. We hang out together and go eat together sometimes. In both football and basketball, we always go to eat Thursday nights at Buffalo Wild Wings in Penn Hills.
How far will Pitt go in the NCAA tournament? To the Sweet 16.
Who will win it all? Duke. I'm a Duke kid. I pray they win it.
Who has the best french fries? Burger King. McDonald's puts too much salt on theirs.
People might be surprised to know that you ...? I still sleep with my baby blanket.

Emily Miller
Mt. Lebanon
The past week: Miller scored 18 points Tuesday night in Mt. Lebanon's 46-34 victory against West Lawn Wilson in a PIAA Class AAAA semifinal.
Check this out: Miller, a 5-foot-11 junior guard-forward, is Mt. Lebanon's second-leading scorer, averaging 12 points a game. She has been a starter since her sophomore year.
Your team doesn't give up many points. What would you say is the most important thing in being a good individual defensive player? I would say you just have to be aggressive. We play strict man-to-man and you always have to know where your person is at all times. We're a very physical team, too.
Your coach, Dori Oldaker, has been very successful at Mt. Lebanon and Blackhawk. Why? I think one of the reasons is she just has a strong desire to win. Plus, we watch so many films of teams. We always have a game plan and know exactly what the other players are doing on the other team.
If you could take anyone in the world to your prom, who would it be? I'd say Sean Lee [Penn State linebacker]. I don't know him at all but his sister plays on my Cup soccer team, so there is a connection.
People might be surprised to know that you ... ? I've been a three-year starter in soccer.
