Penn State defensive tackle Phil Taylor had a felony charge of aggravated assault thrown out today by Centre County District Judge Jonathan Grine during a preliminary hearing.
Taylor still is facing misdemeanor charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct, and a summary offense of harassment and stalking as a result of an October fight at the student union.
Taylor has a pretrial conference May 15. A trial date has not been set.
He is one of four players who have been suspended from the team by coach Joe Paterno.
Defensive tackle Chris Baker and backup linebacker Navorro Bowman are facing numerous charges in connection with the fight five months ago.
And backup cornerback/special teams player Knowledge Timmons is charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and defiant trespass after overturning furniture while looking for his iPhone after the incident.
