Connecticut beats Pitt, 74-47

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Top-ranked Connecticut beat Pitt, 74-47, tonight in a Big East Tournament semifinal at the XL Center.

The Huskies took early leads of 11-1 and 20-7 and cruised to the easy win. Center Tina Charles scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Huskies, who will play the winner of tonight's other semifinal between Louisville and West Virginia.

Shavonte Zellous scored 11 points to lead Pitt (22-10).
