Pitt junior forward Sam Young and freshman center DeJuan Blair were recognized by the Big East today for their outstanding play this season.
Young was named first-team all-Big East and Blair, a Schenley High School graduate, was named to the league's all-rookie team. Blair also received honorable mention in the all-league voting.
The Big East will give out more awards tomorrow night at the Big East Awards banquet at the Grand Hyatt in Manhattan. Young is a candidate for the league's most improved player and Blair for rookie of the year.
