When preparing for the prom, it's easy for a girl to forget the little touches that can make a big impact.
The dress, the shoes, the jewelry, the hair, the makeup are all important. But the right scent can pull it all together and become a new style signature long after the event is over.
A perfume, like the dress, should complement your personality and invite compliments. Ranging from affordable to upscale, here are seven new and classic prom-friendly fragrances that might make the big night even more memorable:
Ralph Wild by Ralph Lauren is fun and fruity with strawberry, watermelon, jasmine and sandalwood; $28.50 at Macy's, Boscov's and Sephora.
Glamourazzi by FLIRT! Cosmetics is daring and sexy with ginger, vanilla and exotic flowers; $35 at Kohl's.
Dreaming by Tommy Hilfiger is bright and inviting with peach, white flowers, white woods and orris; $35 at Macy's.
More Pink Please by Victoria's Secret is sweet and innocent with coconut orchid, marshmallow, apricot nectar and pink lotus flower; $47 at Victoria's Secret.
French Lime Blossom by Jo Malone is fresh and floral with bergamot, tarragon, lily and rose; $50 at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Chevrefeuille by Creed is elegant and sophisticated with honeysuckle, ambergris, citrus and herbs; $128 at Saks, Larrimor's, Schiller's Pharmacy and Toadflax in Shadyside.
Los Angeles-based Jovovich-Hawk is the 10th fashion label to design a limited-edition collection for the GO International line at Target.
Actress Milla Jovovich and designer friend Carmen Hawk created looks for women ranging from breezy print dresses and blue linen culottes to terry cloth shorts and dark-washed denim jeans. Prices run from $12.99 for screen T-shirts to $39.99 for dresses.
Target also has introduced a limited-edition jewelry collection designed by Mt. Lebanon native Justin Giunta. The neo-Baroque necklaces, bracelets and earrings are similar to designs for his Subversive Jewelry label and range from $14.99 to $59.99. They'll be available March 23 through July 20.
Giunta, 28, was a 2006 finalist in the accessories division of the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund competition and earlier this year won the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation's first accessories award, which included a grant of $25,000. He lives in New York.
