Ask Carley: Amenity kits for the reception bathrooms?
Monday, March 10, 2008

Q: I've heard that people make amenity kits for the reception bathroom. Is this necessary?

A: It's not necessary, but a bathroom kit is a thoughtful gesture, particularly if you're having your reception somewhere other than a hotel.

For the women's bathroom, you can include tampons, mouthwash, deodorant, a hair comb, hairspray, mints, perfume, aspirin, safety pins, lotion, clear nail polish, dental floss, a lint brush and an emery board.

You can skip a basket in the men's bathroom (they're less likely to worry about hair and nails), but if you want one, add a little mouthwash, cologne, dental floss, a lint brush, deodorant and aspirin.
