The International Poetry Forum presents a doubleheader reading tonight with poets Hayan Charara and Bill Zavatsky.
Zavatsky, 64, also has worked as a jazz pianist, translator of the poetry of French writer Andre Breton and teacher at the Trinity School in New York City.
His newest collection of poetry is 2006's "Where X Marks the Spot" from Hanging Loose Press.
Hanging Loose also published Charara's first collection, "The Alchemist's Diary," in 2001.
A Detroit native, he's the editor of the forthcoming poetry anthology, "Inclined to Speak" (University of Arkansas Press), a collection of writings by 39 Arab-Americans including Samuel Hazo, director of the poetry forum.
Charara's latest book, "The Sadness of Others," was published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2006.
The readings are at 8 p.m. in the Carnegie Library Lecture Hall. Tickets are $12, $8 for students and seniors. Phone: 412-621-9893.
