Honored on senior night in likely her final game at the Petersen Events Center, Pitt center Marcedes Walker scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the women's basketball team's 70-33 rout of Georgetown last night.
Walker became the all-time leading rebounder in Panthers history, with 1,114 in her storied career.
Guard Shavonte Zellous, with 13 points, and forward Xenia Stewart, with 11, also were in double figures for Pitt.
The Hoyas mustered just 14 points in the first half and shot 20.8 percent for the game, committing 24 turnovers and getting outrebounded by 10. Reserve Kristin Heidloff was the Hoyas' leading scorer, with nine points.
For the Panthers senior Karlyle Lim had a career-high six assists and senior Mallorie Winn had nine points, bringing her within 28 points of 1,000 for her career.
Pitt shot 45.1 percent from the floor, including 47.1 percent from the 3-point line. Winn and Zellous each had three 3-pointers.
The Hoyas were 2 of 15 from behind the arc.
The win moved Pitt's record to 20-9, 10-6 in the Big East, while Georgetown dropped to 15-14, 5-11.
Next up for the Panthers is the Big East tournament, which begins Saturday in Hartford, Conn.
Pitt finished the regular season in a tie for fifth in the conference with Syracuse and Louisville -- both of which the Panthers have beaten this year.
