West Virginia defeated Pitt, 76-62, tonight at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W.Va.

The Panthers (21-9, 9-8) fell into seventh place in the Big East standings with one regular-season game remaining. The Mountaineers (21-9, 10-7) moved ahead of Pitt into sixth place.

West Virginia enhanced its NCAA tournament resume with the victory.

Pitt plays DePaul Sunday afternoon at the Petersen Events Center.
