Pitt (20-8, 8-7) tied Cincinnati (13-14, 8-7) for seventh place in the Big East. The win notched the seventh consecutive 20-win season for Pitt.
Junior forward Sam Young had 20 points to lead the Panthers and sparked a second-half comeback with two free throws and a steal and dunk in the span of 10 seconds when the Panthers trailed, 40-33, early in the second half.
Freshman center DeJuan Blair added 18 and had 10 rebounds, and Keith Benjamin added 11 points.
