Women still make up most of the cosmetic surgery patients (91 percent), but more and more men are seeking all kinds of procedures -- from liposuction to Botox injections.
More than 1 million men got surgical and nonsurgical treatments last year, an increase of 17 percent over 2006, according to the latest statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, released Monday.
In addition, more racial and ethnic minorities also are seeking cosmetic procedures -- an increase of 22 percent over 2006.
Years ago, rhinoplasty -- the nose job -- often topped the list of surgical procedures. But it doesn't even make the top five now when stats are combined for men and women. The top procedures overall are liposuction, breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, abdominoplasty and female breast reduction.
When you break down just men's statistics, the nose job rated third for men.
Botox rated No. 1 for the both men and women for the top nonsurgical treatment.
